Bio
Lee Branstetter is the James Walton Professor of Economics and Public Policy at 온라인바카라’s Heinz College, where he has also served as Director of the Future of Work Initiative at the Block Center for Technology and Society. A research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, Branstetter’s work focuses on technological innovation, international trade, and the economic impacts of AI and industrial policy. From 2011 to 2012, he served as Senior Economist for International Trade and Investment at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He was also a nonresident senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics from 2013 to 2024.

He has held visiting and consulting roles with the World Bank, OECD, and Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry, among others. His scholarship appears in leading journals such as the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of International Economics, and Management Science. Branstetter earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and his B.A. from Northwestern University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors in Economics and Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences.
