    • NEW We Are Not Alone: Supporting Peer's Mental Health (98167). This class invites students into Carnegie Mellon's Wellness Lab space, where they will learn how to better support themselves and their peers through mental health struggles. Students will learn skills and tools for supporting themselves and others and accrue a breadth of knowledge on the resources and options for self-care and treatment both on and off-campus through guest lectures, thought-provoking readings, and inclusive and open class discussions.

  • NEW Personal Futures (51150):  Going on a lifelong journey without a plan or map isn't easy. In the "Personal Design Futures" mini-course, students take on the most critical design project: their own life. Students explore who they are, where they come from, and where they hope to go. They describe their core values, what makes their life meaningful, and whom they wish to become in possible futures. While life choices are personal, we use time-tested methods to explore potential futures. 
This course is designed to explore the subject of stress and how it can be managed to improve health and wellbeing. We will explore the environmental, physical and emotional contributors to stress; factors that affect the experience of stress; the role of stress in health and illness; and opportunities to practice a number of stress management techniques. Each student will create and implement a personal stress management plan.
This six-unit mini course will explore the expression of human relationships and sexuality. Emphasis will be placed on college health and the social, cultural and health factors that affect relational interactions. This course is designed to assist students with improved functioning in personal relationships, provide information to take care of their sexual health and help them acquire skills to make decisions now and in the future. Topic areas will include relationships, sexual behavior, sexual health and interpersonal skills. Academic support will be provided by campus and community partners.

Supporting Student Well-Being: Faculty Professional Development in Recognizing & Assisting Students in Distress

This is a 90-minute faculty-designed, professional development opportunity that is meant to serve as a broad overview of how best to aid students at 온라인바카라. Following this session, faculty should be able to (1) articulate key findings about the 바카라 온라인 추천 student mental health experience, (2) describe the vital role of faculty in supporting students, (3) identify the appropriate methods to assist students, and (4) describe the available support resources on campus.

CuRB

At Carnegie Mellon, we are committed to ensuring that every community member feels safe and protected. The CuRB training covers how identity, power, and privilege impacts our role as bystanders and provides space to explore how we arrive at our understandings and perceptions of others. Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based, nationally-recognized training that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and support individuals struggling with mental health or substance use challenges. It is a six hour, in person training. Register for MHFA.

MOSAIC

MOSAIC centers intersectionality as the root of our understanding of identity. As a regional conference, MOSAIC pulls in key partners from the Greater Pittsburgh community to create space and provide tools for conversations about intersectional identities. Attendees discuss the multiple layers of identity and how to apply this understanding both inside and outside of academic spaces. Learn more about MOSAIC.

Pathways for Suicide Prevention Training

Originally designed by Syracuse University, specifically for a college/university community, Pathways for Suicide Prevention Training is an experiential training focused on enhancing a person’s knowledge, awareness, and skills concerning college student suicide. Emphasis is placed on developing empathic listening skills, communication skills, and the ability to ask students compassionately and directly about their suicidal thoughts. This training employs a multicultural framework and seeks to enhance understanding of and ability to respond to students from numerous intersecting identities. Have you ever wanted to learn a skill, but haven’t found the time? Interested to learn more about library resources, straight from a librarian? – which are offered by the Libraries each semester on a variety of topics – are designed to help attendees learn a new skill, deepen their understanding of a specific topic, or gain exposure to an unfamiliar technology, tool, or technique.
